...See more Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well <3. I have a problem with communication as I’ve had several bad experiences with talking about my feelings. For example, 2 years ago I opened up to my friends about my struggles with anxiety and they all found it weird and slowly left me out. The only one who understood me had an eating disorder and had to deal with the same type of anxiety as me (destructive perfectionism). But the difference between me and her is that she would hide it pretend everything would be okay to be part of the group instead of getting help. I ended up convincing her to get help but I think I internalized “don’t feel anything it will just make it worse”. I also have a very nurturing personality, so I tend to get close to people to help them, instead if surrounding myself with people who genuinely care about me and make me feel good. If not I feel like I have no purpose and what am I doing here. I don’t know how to open up anymore, I don’t know how to get others to open up as I refuse to open up to them. Because I’m the one who’s supposed to be helping? Idk anymore how normal friendships work. Could anyone give me advice on how to fix this?
