...See more Hi, my name is Rose and I’m 39 years old. The last 10 months have been the worst of my entire life. I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer in November of last year. I completed 16 rounds of chemo, had a double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction, and suffered surgery complications that left me in pain and with lymphedema. These complications have forced me to push back my 25 rounds of radiation for two months which makes me worry about the cancer coming back. My grandmother passed away on July 30th and a few days later our family dog fell into the pool and drowned. 11 days ago my father fell and was admitted to the hospital. We were told he was declining and they would be bringing in palliative care. Thankfully he is doing better, but will have to be put in a nursing home. His hospitalization prevented my mom and I from going to my grandmothers funeral. (I would absolutely never leave my dad’s side, but it was hard to not be able to say goodbye). I have two sons and my 8 year old has severe ADHD, DMDD, and anxiety. He has been struggling in school this year, even with an IEP in place, and has been getting sent home almost daily. Today my husband went to take our sons to school and our car broke down and caught on fire. It will cost $1600 to repair, but even worse, they said it could have exploded. We already owe over $12,000 in medical bills and are struggling as it is. I probably sound like I’m rambling, but I really don’t know how so many things can happen to someone. I know that I’m a good person, but I wonder what I did to deserve this and how I will get out of this hole. Thank you for anyone who reads this, I really just needed to get it all out.
