...See more I am lost and I do not know where to actually go. The voices in my head are getting loud when I don't do something even when I am about to go to sleep.

No contact?

...See more My long term partner and I separated ways on March 25th. We have had conversations after that and we check on each other every few days or so. He initially wanted to have a clean cut and go no contact but I refused and I explained why. I am not trying to get back together again but our families are already tangled up and my siblings are not ready to lose their older brother and tbh I am not ready to lose him at all. It has been a few weeks, now I am thinking that he probably just kept in contact because of me. He was always the caregiver of the relationship, I did my part as well to take care of him but the care he needs is different. He has depression and he says he is not happy to drag me down with him. He needs to feel like an individual again. Now I am thinking that if I really do love him, I should sacrifice and give him what he says he needs, which is no contact. Maybe a month? Or more. I do not know. I will talk to him about it because I don't want to just leave him hanging. I am hoping that I will get positive things from a no contact period as well, I want to learn to be independent and I want to do things for myself. Maybe lose weight or eat healthier or do hobbies, I never tried. I have so many issues with this but I will try for him and for myself. In the end, I don't think it's possible for my feelings to go away but I would just have to learn how to live with that. 7 years together is not a joke.
