...See more So now that Valentine’s Day is over, we can talk a little about the bittersweet experience of being around 30 and single. Lately, though, it’s felt more bitter than sweet. 🫠 For the past several years, I chose to pursue a degree and focused heavily on my studies. I’ve been invested in that since my early 20s, while also trying to experience life a bit. I had the chance to travel during those years, which I’m grateful for. But now I feel like I’m late. Late to find someone. Late to have kids. Late to build a family. Every time I think about it, I get really upset. I wonder if I did what I was supposed to do. I really want to have kids someday, but when I think about turning 30 this year and not having anyone in my life, I start wondering if it’s still possible, or if life is just going to stay like this for me. Since my grandmother passed away in 2022, life has felt emptier when it comes to family. I do have a mother. I don’t have a father. I’m adopted (another bittersweet situation, waaay bitter than sweet), though it wasn’t done legally at first, which is common in my country. My adoptive family (grandparents and mother) raised me without formal custody until I turned 18, and then my mother and I made the adoption official. Me and my mother aren’t close. She moved out when I was 17 after she got married and didn’t want me involved in her new life (recently she told me it was because she was “jealous” of her husband, but now the situation changed bc he asked for a divorce so she’s been trying to reach out to me more often and “make things up”🙄). She has always been aggressive, manipulative, and not very supportive. But I keep moving forward. I don’t think she even knows how much I want to have children one day. She probably wouldn’t support it anyway. She hasn’t supported me in relationships either. Sometimes it feels like she doesn’t want me to build a life or be happy with someone. So I don’t share my plans with her. I guess what scares me the most is not getting the chance to build a family of my own and experience the happiness that comes with it. Sometimes it feels like that’s what’s supposed to happen for me. And I wish it wasn’t. Thanks for listening

...See more Hey everyone ! I recently graduated from university (I’m a licensed psychologist now), but what I really want is to live abroad. I want to build a life for myself somewhere else. Right now I live in Brasil (my home country) I’ve been to few countries before : USA (where I spent 1 year for cultural exchange), Ireland, Germany, Czech and Poland. I’ve always wanted to live abroad, but I don’t know where to start, I get completely lost when I need to start researching, planning and all, so feels like I’m not “moving”. If any of you had experiences moving abroad to share, tips and all, I’d love to hear!! Thank you 🩷
