Arms Still Not Clean But In A Healthy Mindset
Self-Harm Recovery / by loyalGirl16

...See more Hi People, So I am only about 2 days clean from self harm, but I feel that despite this, I'm in a better mindset finally. So I was at school today, and my mate came over and said hi and then sat right next to me, for a WHOLE class without saying anything. This may not seem like a big deal but it really is. Because I'm a girl, and he's a guy and his hanging around me puts him in the firing line for ridicule. But he never lets that affect him. And then when we had to part ways, he told me to "be safe". And again I know that this is not a big deal for others but this is a massive deal to me. Because over time, we've developed this tradition where one of us will say "stay safe" and the other person will say "you too". And I guess.. without him, I wouldn't be where I am today. But anyway.. he has been the main reason as to why I'm in a better mindset as of late. And yeah.. I guess thats all I wanted to say really. But I guess it's just a sign that there is hope that can be waiting for you in the dark. Don't give up!!

...See more Hi people, I'm sorry to be venting here. But I really need someone to talk to. And here feels semisafe. So yeah.. I'm feeling more than slightly triggered. And I don't even know why. Any coping strategies? That would be real helpful. Don't know what to do anymore. Cutting seems like the only way out of this mess.

...See more Day 1 after being 36 days clean. Lowkey disappointed but oh well. It is what it is. Feeling confident about recovery for the first time in a long time. I know that it's important because I can't let me best friend down. I owe him getting myself better at least. It helps to have something to drive your recovery. Hoping all of you the best on your recovery path. Relapse is okay. As long as you get back up. Stay blessed
