The difference between knowledge and faith in the Spiritual Realm

...See more I could never say that I know that God is real unless I had a personal visit from Him that I could not deny. However, that could just be a delusion unless it affected me so profoundly that I could not deny His truth. And I can not say that others who say they have had this kind of experience are wrong, because I was not present to experience it myself! Mental Health facilities have patients who absolutely know that they are Gods or any number of other delusions. So, for me, it comes back down to Faith. I don't know that God is real, but I choose to believe in Him out of Faith, Hope and Optimism! And are we not supposed to live by Faith?! Also, I cannot believe in a Divine "Father in Heaven" who is the epitome of all loving and all forgiving and all good things would allow his precious children to go to a place like *** where His very beloved children would be burned and tortured forever and ever throughout all Eternity, and where they cannot even die to relieve this eternal torture. All just because they gave in to the very Human Nature He endowed them with, in order to be able to survive and multiply and become rulers over all creatures on Earth in this very competitive natural world where we are the weakest among all predators! It just does not make any sense to me and cannot be reconciled with my belief in an all-knowing God who created everything. Nothing could exist without His creating it. I or no other good and sane earthly parent would ever subject their children, no matter how bad or sinful they became, to such a horrific torture that would never end and last forever and ever! What about the Gift of Repentance? Is that supposed to automatically cease to be available once a person dies? I don't believe that to be true. But then again, I am a Critical Thinker who questions everything, especially from undeniable Authority  be it politics or religions and especially from my own beliefs lest I become so self-righteous that I begin to think I am always right in my beliefs and anyone and everyone who questions my self-righteous beliefs are somehow evil! There is just too much of that in the World, which has caused multiple wars and the deaths of multiple millions!
