...See more I have been married for six years to my husband. In those six years, we havent cohabited for longer than four months due to our jobs. We made it work, but I made it clear to him that this is not my ideal set up for married life and that if the opportunity arises, I would love to live with him and come home to him every day. I thought he and I were on the same page regarding this, but recent events lead me to believe differently. I recently had to relocate for my mom to be closer to her as she gets older. I discussed this matter with my husband and he encouraged me to do it. I set up living arrangements and made it clear to my husband that I would like to settle down with him in this new locale. This would mean giving up his current job and working closer to home. To make things easier for him, I scouted for available positions in his field and found an opening albeit it pays lower than what he earns now. I gave all these details to him and he agreed to set the date for when he would officially move in to the new apartment. The date he set is now a month away and whenever I would bring this up with him, he becomes depressed and closed off. He tells me that he is happy in his job and he does not want to leave. He tells me that the decision to settle down was something he was not completely on board with and that I did all the arrangements without including him in the decision making. I feel hurt. I feel led on. I feel that I am not enough of a wife for him to want to build a life together with. I feel like I am not worth more to him than his job. I reflect back on our six years of marriage and I wonder if I was just fooling myself that my husband would some day want to live with me.
