...See more My partner of 18 years was diagnosed with depression a few months ago. He is on medication and is seeing a councellor once a week. I had no idea anything was wrong until he woke up one day and told me to leave and that he no longer wanted to be with me. He refused to talk it through so i left to stay with family. We kept in touch via whatsapp and after talking said the only way to deal with his depression was on his own. We spoke of ways I could help such as me sleeping in the spare room for a few days when he felt he needed space. I went back to him as i thought we had worked things out. We went away for a weekend and everything seemed fine and back to normal, then two days after getting home he did the exact same thing againm told me to leave. I am now back with family sleeping on a mattress on their floor. We have once again been talking online and i have told him i am willing to give it a few months to see if he feels better in himself then we can meet up and talk it through. He has agreed to this but also said he will not promise me anything as he doesnt want to get my hopes up. I asked if he still loves me and he replied that he feels nothing for anyone at the moment. His mind is jumbled up and he feels empty. And that nobody can help him only himself. Do i give him time or is it time for me to walk away? This has been going on since feburary.. i love him and miss him and the life we had and i am hurting for the furture we probably wont have now.
