...See more When I think back to how I felt when I had to read aloud in class, I feel nauseous. I was so nervous because I knew that I wouldn't be able to get the words out. This wasn't helped by the fact that a couple of really mean girls in my class never let a day go by without making me remember that I was not perfect. Whenever I opened my mouth to read aloud, it felt like their 'perfect' hands were forming a necklace around my throat, making me choke on the words that I so desperately wanted to say. I prayed that I would wake up normal, able to talk without the immense fear of stuttering and having someone treat me the same way as they did. Though I now realise that stuttering is who I am, my normal, I have never got over that fear and I don't think I ever will. If you struggle with stuttering, it's okay. It's a part of you, and I think every single part of you is beautiful. Don't let what anyone says make you feel bad. You're still you, thank God. I hope you don't feel like I did, because I know that you are strong enough to deal with this. I'm sorry that this post is so sad. I just had to put this point out there: You are not somehow worse just because you have a stutter. 💜 If you are reading this, I love you. I am sending you hugs, and I want you to always remember that whatever you are going through, you are stronger than the bad feelings that are trying to consume you. 💜
