...See more Hey. I want to get straight to the point. For years, I’ve been jeopardizing my friendships because of my insecurities and bad habit of overthinking. I don’t have the best self-love track record, and it is apparent in my friendships. I tend to overscan every word my friends say, and it often leads me to misinterpreting their words, but rather than asking them for clarity, I end up exploding and breaking down in front of them (usually through texting). Even though we talked about it and how it’s okay for me to ask for clarity if I don’t understand, I still explode before I even ask for clarity. I also always keep overthinking that there’s bias against me, even though my friends have said over and over that there is not. But yet, no matter how many times they tell me and remind me of their appreciation for me, it’s like I straight-up ignore and always assume that they are biased against me in some way. I’ve been looking everywhere for free therapy resources, even at my school. This is the only place I found so far to tide me over until appointments open up for the therapy at my school (hopefully). I really need help because my overthinking and anxiety is literally causing my friends to consider breaking off our friendship because of my unhealthy habits. Please… what can I do to stop this cycle?
