Relationship Stress / by peachyAppley

...See more Hi, I’m going through something really hard and I need to talk. I’ve been in a relationship with my boyfriend for a while now, and I really love him. Recently, though, things have started to change — or at least it feels like they have. He’s become distant, colder, and less interested in spending time with me. I feel like I’m the only one trying to hold things together. When I asked him if he still loves me, he just said he “cares about me,” but didn’t say he loves me. He also told me that being with me lately feels like something he’s doing out of obligation, not because he wants to. That completely broke my heart. We had a conversation where I pushed him to be honest with me — and he finally said he doesn’t feel the same anymore, that he doesn’t see a future for us, and even said that it might be better if we broke up. But at the same time, there were moments where he was affectionate, where it felt like maybe something could still work. I don’t know if I made things worse by pushing for clarity. I cry a lot — at night, in the morning. I feel confused, rejected, and really alone. I keep replaying everything in my head, wondering what I did wrong, or if this is just a phase he’s going through. I keep hoping he’ll come back to me emotionally, even though I know I can’t force that. What hurts most is that I still love him so much. I want to believe we can get through this together — but I’m scared he’s already emotionally gone. I’m trying to let go a little, to not chase, but it’s hard when your heart still hopes. I just feel really lost and I don’t know what to do next.
