Need relationship advice about my ex

...See more My ex and i broke up but it was in good terms. We're both 18, we're not that mature yet and we want to grow by ourselves instead of being dependent of each other she broke it off. Our relationship was rocky for the past month because of long distance which led us to that decision. We still love each other very much though. Days later, stupidly enough, i got so depressed and heartbroken that i want to take her back because i missed her so i asked her if we could talk again. We did and she said she does want me back but she can't at this moment because we already broke it off. She wants to enjoy life by herself for a year and so but if it's in God's will, we could get back in the future or, there will be a possibility that we'll find someone else. Even though she said that, we agreed that it's still impossible for us to find someone better. We talked like we used to, the feeling was still there but we both agreed for good that we should move on to better ourselves and just let time unveil everything. I have come to accept that and it doesn't hurt that much anymore, i've found peace but i can't rub off this feeling that she was the one that got away and that she was really my soul mate. I just have a question to ask, is it possible to move on but not forget her and our memories? It feels unfortunate to just forget these feelings but then again, yeah love makes you stupid. Also, what are the chances of exes getting back together? How does it usually work?
