Grateful for... blisters?

...See more So I work in the marine industry, patching fiberglass parts for boats, and making them look like finished parts. I got a pair of shoes for work, and while they hurt a bit yesterday, I took my socks off before my bath to realize that I had three blisters on my toes. The way I think about things has changed since I really started working on myself. I realized that I wasn't really put out by the idea of going to work tomorrow with my feet in less-than-optimal shape. And it made me feel happy. I've been told by several people in my life at different times that I don't think similarly to anyone they know. I don't think I know anyone off-hand that would be happy about having blisters on their toes after a ten-hour shift. But to me, it's evidence I did my job, and that I'm strong enough mentally now, where I wouldn't have been 4 years ago, to endure a bit of ouch for a payoff, one where I love what I do, enjoy the environment I work in, and feel as if I'm doing something with my life. I'm grateful for the little blisters. I'm also grateful that it pushed me to educate myself in how to better care for feet, which will help others as well, especially my husband. I'm grateful for learning, for this life I have, the people who helped me along the way to build it, and for boats. ❤️
