...See more A few years ago I was in a relationship for 9 months with a guy who was quite a bit older then me. Most of the abuse was emotional and mental but there were times it was physical. Everyone noticed after one month that I wasn’t myself and I was more angry, irritated and sad. I couldn’t talk about anything I was interested in or liked because o would be met with hostility and judgement. I couldn’t even do things like get my eyebrows done without a comment making me feel guilty. I couldn’t eat breakfast unless I worked out first because I needed to lose weight, even though I was at a perfectly healthy weight. He would constantly check out and make comments about other women in front of me. My self esteem and confidence completely dropped. He also kept all these naked pictures of women he had slept with on his computer and on a slide show that would always be playing. Not only that but he would talk about a specific ex girlfriend that he had dated years ago. Almost everyday even if it wasn’t relevant. Of things she’d do or their life together. He suggested I dye my hair the same colour she had hers or buy the same kind of clothing. Well now I’m in a loving relationship and engaged. We’ve been together over 2 years and I can’t help but to ask questions like if he loved his exes more then he loves me or still has feelings. Or details about his past relationships ( that he hates explaining) I don’t want it to ruin my relationship but I’m scared it will. I’ve tried to stop obsessing over his past and previous relationships but I always fail. He will reassure me and it calms me for a bit but I always overthink and ask questions again. Also my fiancé has kids with his ex so he has to talk to her and I feel like it makes things worst. I feel like giving up sometimes.
