Struggling to Work

...See more Is there anyone else with bipolar and anxiety that struggle to work? I am finding it so hard to keep a job. In the last 5 years, my longest stretch at a job was 7 months. I keep having to jump from job to job because I run out of days off because I call out too much. I call out a lot because I find it really hard to work with my depression (which my doctors think is from the bipolar, not a seperate diagnosis). I've been struggling so much with harmful thoughts and with staying calm. I get random bouts of anger and anxiety. I'm even trying to door dash for income instead of a normal job and my anxiety has been hindering that as well because I've been having panic attacks that make it hard to drive for the rest of the night. I'm trying for disability for my condition but it's been so difficult because it takes 2-3 years to see if you get approved. I'm just really worried, and I feel like a failure because I seem to be unable to hold a job and help with the household income. Even if it's a job I like, even if it's easy, I struggle with just getting up and going to work because of my anxiety and depression. Prayers would be great. And just any words of advice anyone may have. I know people with bipolar must work, and I wish I wasn't struggling so much so I could feel proud of myself for working, but I am just feeling like I'm failing constantly.

Anxiety/Depression Copes That Work for You?

...See more I would like your help creating a running list of things that have helped others with their anxiety/depression. Coping skills or preventative measures or whatever you've found has helped you personally. I can find some things on Google, of course. Like "exercise 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes" and "box breathing" and "5-4-3-2-1 method". But I would like to hear what you all have personally found helpful. Different ways to work around cognitive distortions or different methods that have worked for you to making it through the work day or just even helpful things you've learned in therapy. For me, I'd like to contribute "color breathing". Basically, you pick a color representing your current feeling. Then pick a color for the feeling you want. Like red for anger and blue for calm. Whatever you're feeling, and the colors can change whenever you want. Like red doesn't always have to be anger and calm doesn't always have to be blue. Then you take a deep breath out and imagine the color of the feeling you don't want coming out of you. So imagine a red smoke coming out of your mouth, letting out that anger through your breathing. Then, take a deep breath in and imagine that desired feeling's color filling up your body and making you feel that feeling. Calm, joy, peace, etc. And then keep doing that. Breathe out the bad feeling, breathe in the good feeling. Personally, I haven't had luck with box breathing, but I find good luck with color breathing. Please help me create this list. For myself and maybe for others who could use more advice or skills. Thank you in advance 💕
