...See more hi. this is my first time posting here and i was hoping to get some advice. i've been married for slightly over a year and things keep getting worse. i feel like my wife's behavior has become untenable, but i'm not sure what to do. she has always exhibited red-flag signs such as extreme jealousy and sensitivity, name calling, cursing, screaming and guilt-tripping. lately, though, our fights have escalated more quickly where she perceives many seemingly benign statements as highly offensive and she's also become violent -- punching me in the face last weekend because i had lightly grabbed her arms in panic after she got in my face and started screaming at me. last night she got upset at me while we were talking about race. i'm brown and she's white, so she was telling me some issues she had about a brown co-worker. i defended her coworker and she looked at me suspiciously and didn't respond to what i said. i mentioned i had more in common with her coworker because i was also brown, and she blew up at me and accused me of being a "fucking jerk." i haven't been able to stop crying since and i'm afraid to be around her. she said she's planning to go to therapy but i'm not sure if that's enough. i know i'm not perfect and make mistakes all the time, but i don't think i deserve to be afraid of my own spouse. is the relationship salvageable at all?
