...See more So I found out just a few days ago at my job that I’m now going to be working with the person I grew up from a very young age having a crush on. We went our separate paths around 5-6 grade back then. And then re-met in 2018. I’ve come to found out that although we were not in talks with each other we both seem to fall into a boat load of the same interests and hobbies. So much so that I was actually about to talk with them and try and maybe re get to know each other and maybe spark something. But now since finding out I’m going to be coworkers with them, I am scared beyond belief. I don’t know what I’m gonna do or say to them or how I should act around them now. I don’t want to make things super awkward at work between us. But deep down I still have a crush on this person and was going to try and persue them romantically. Now I’m just kinda stuck and don’t know what to do really.

...See more In 2019 I met this girl (now NB) at a hockey game and we instantly hit it off. We connected extremely well on a lot of our interests and we were able to hang out and see each other multiple times within a months or so span. Then one day after our hangout I kinda let some of my feelings show a bit. I didn’t actually say that I wanted to be more than friends, but it was enough for them to say at the time “This is a friendship for the foreseeable future”. At the time that crushed me because I really thought that I had found my soulmate. But as a year went by I started realizing that maybe it’s okay just being friends with them. I even later found out that they were more into women than guys, but still were attracted to guys. That’s when we both sorta confessed our sexuality’s to each other and that we were both Pansexual. We’ve grown close as friends I feel but there are times where it feels like we drift from each other cause of life and them having physical health issues they have to attend to at all times. January 2021 was the last time I’ve seen them in person and it really hurts to have not felt their physical presence in that long. Texting just is not the same. I know it’s been three years since that rejection and I know that me as a Cis-male has a low chance of being with them romantically due to their preferences. But I still can’t hide the fact I have feelings for them deep down. And I know if I was to actually confess it would make them extremely uncomfortable and would probably have a 99% chance of ruining our friendship. I’m a very selfless person and I feel at times that is my undoing. This has been eating at me for 3 years and I’d still rather suffer than possibly lose them for good.

...See more A friend of mine deals with a laundry list of physical and mental health issues that take alot of their time to focus on. With this comes very inconsistent communication between us. Sometimes we will go a few weeks without talking and sometimes we’ll go a month or longer. We haven’t even seen each other in person now for over a year. And most of the time I am the one that has to contact them first. How do communicate to them that I want us to talk and interact more without coming off as controlling or inconsiderate to their health issues that take up alot of their life and focus?

...See more Reached out to a good friend of mine after not talking for over a month. I know they’ve been dealing with some rough times since the start of the year, with their mental and physical health. So I’ve been giving them the space really to just figure that stuff out. I was hoping that maybe by this time they might have improved a bit to where we could hang out and I could finally give them their Xmas & B-day presents I bought them. But when I texted them to check in they told me they were still doing bad still and that’s why they haven’t tried to reach out or have been on socials much (which was partially true their activity wasn’t really that high/normal for a bit). But they said they appreciated me checking in on them. It’s now been a week since then and their activities on all socials have ramped up quite a bit, especially on Snapchat. I know that I shouldn’t think this way but I’ve felt for awhile now that I feel like we’ve been slowly drifting apart. We haven’t seen each other in person for over a year and it’s always because of their health. To a certain extent I understand because I know what they go through but all last year I saw them hangout with their other friends multiple times on their Snapchat stories. So idk I feel kinda left out in a sense and like I’m not as important to them anymore as they said I was a few years ago. I know I shouldn’t think like this and it more than likely isn’t true but you can’t help but feel like it is at times. I really just don’t know what to do or think anymore. I just wish we could see each other again so I could get a read on our situation again tbh.

Feel guilty but not really?

...See more I haven’t had a “real” convo with a friend of mine for a month now and I don’t I’m kind of feeling guilty about if, but not really either? The main reason we haven’t really talked is because they are really struggling to live as of late. Since the start of the year their anxiety has skyrocketed through the roof, to the point where they’re having daily panic attacks. On top of this they deal with a condition called POTS which affects their blood flow and autonomic nervous system. So I’ve been personally trying to give them the space so they can try and deal with their current condition, which is partially why I say I don’t feel bad for not contacting them. But on the other hand I feel bad and feel like I should reach out but to be honest i don’t know if it would even be worth it you know? Yeah I’m sure they’d appreciate me checking up on them but after that what is there? Conversations between us don’t go for as long as they used to because of what they’re dealing with and the more I talk with them and have a longer convo with them that just drains the hell out of them mentally. Their POTS also causes brain fog as well which has become more and more apparent in recent where they can’t even have a coherent conversation or make coherent consecutive sentences. Anyways point is I don’t know what I really should do? I want to check up on them but if I do I’m gonna wanna talk for more than a day. But if I don’t check up on them I feel like I’m a terrible friend :(

...See more Going off of one of my posts yesterday. I texted a friend about hanging out yesterday for today at around 3:45pm. Didn’t hear a single word from them about it even though they had been on Twitter a bit since I had sent the message. I’ve been trying to set up a hangout with us for weeks now because we haven’t seen each other in over and year and I start back at college next week. So I’m not gonna have a whole lot of days when we can hangout once that starts. Well I didn’t hear anything from them yesterday and it really kinda pissed me off because they clearly were on their phone and know that I’ve been texting them to hangout almost weekly. I woke up this morning though with a text from them at 2am saying they were sorry for just now replying and that they had been experiencing a panic attack for hours and had finally calmed down enough to see the text and respond. Seeing that made me feel like such an A-hole for being upset last night about them not responding. And I know they weren’t just lying to me because who texts someone that at 2am when they could’ve easily made up something less “worse” in a sense if they just didn’t wanna hangout. Also they have texted me before 1 time at around the same time of the night having a panic attack so I know that they do have them. But still seeing that text made me feel so bad about myself and the way I handled things in my head. It always seems to be like this, I get pissed cause they don’t respond in like a few hours and then whenever they finally do respond it’s because something health related and or extremely valid.
