...See more I've been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years. His mom and I used to be super close but once I started to become extremely depressed she totally looked at me different and makes comments to my face that are super hurtful when my boyfriend isn't around and when I tell him afterwards he doesn't believe me or he agrees with what she says. Lately she's been talking to him when Im not around about how Im gonna drag him down in life and make him unsuccessful and how Im extremely disrespectful because I don't talk to her as much anymore and she can't believe how rude I am even though I try to explain that Im not in the mood to talk. Neither of them have ever experienced depression and think I can just simply make it go away. They constantly call me lazy and unmotivated when I get into really bad ruts and they think they're helping. I've told them so many times their comments make me feel worse and they just think I am "avoiding" helping myself. This has all affected me so badly and I've started to completely avoid his mom because she just always brings me down and no matter what I do she has something to say about it and my boyfriend is always gonna side with his family which I don't know how to feel about. Has anyone been in this sort of situation before? I don't want to throw 5 years away over this... I do love him. I just don't know how to make him get it.
