...See more We started so simple—no pressure, no expectations. Just talking, casual, until I didn’t even realize I was already used to having her there. She became the person I looked for whenever I achieved something, whenever I had something to share. And I thought it was the same for her, so of course… I assumed there was something. But it turns out, someone was already courting her while I was there—for almost a year. And the crazy part? I stayed. I stayed even when things felt a little off, even when there were moments I knew it wasn’t right anymore. I even found myself helping her with things that were meant for someone else—like I was there, but not really the one. Imagine this—there was a time she asked for my help to choose an outfit she’d wear on a vacation… with the guy courting her. She was even hiding me from him, telling him we were “just friends.” My role felt so weird, but I didn’t leave right away because I genuinely liked her. She was easy to be with, fun, super comfortable. And sometimes, that’s what messes you up—when it feels right, even if it actually isn’t. But I got tired too. Not because of some big fight or anything dramatic, but because I kept feeling like it wasn’t right. And I knew I deserved more than that. So I stepped back. Quietly. No drama, no begging, no chasing. And then one day, I found out… they were already officially together, even while she was entertaining me. And somehow, everything made sense. It wasn’t about me lacking anything. We just weren’t meant for each other. It hurts, of course—I won’t lie about that. But at the same time, it gave me clarity. Because now I know: no matter how much you love someone, if they can’t choose you the way you deserve, you have to choose yourself. And this time, I did.
