...See more Hi everyone! I am very grateful to be part of this community, hope you are all well. I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 nearly four years ago, after four years of a succession of manic and depressive episodes. At the time, I had no idea that these were episodes. I was diagnosed with depression and treated with antidepressants. I tried several antidepressants, but they all made me very high. Virtually everyone I knew wanted to take whatever I was taking! Since I felt so much better, thinking that I had overcome depression, I started to reduce medication and this made me fall into a depression again. Each depression was worse than the previous one and I became suicidal. Hopefully, I found the right doctor at the right time and she diagnosed me with bipolar 2. A mood stabilizer was added to my medication and it was then when I started feeling better. It has now been four years of stability. I am constantly on the look for treatments, coping skills and routines that work and sharing is so important. I don't know about you, but I still feel it's so difficult to tell people about being bipolar. One of the things that help me, apart from reading you guys and being a listener is writing and I would like to share with you my blog, in the hope that my experience can be a shortcut to someone else.
