Generally, I will wait about 5 minutes for you to give a response, with a few exceptions (the other person mentions they have to leave for a moment, go to the bathroom, etc..) but if the conversation goes longer than about 5 minutes without a reply, I move on. That's not a cut off. You can try messaging me with me another time, but I believe this 5 minute response guideline is both reasonable and considerate.
