How do you cope with self harm?

...See more I've been depressed for several years now but only a few weeks ago I've started harming myself everytime anxiety or depression kicks in. I cut myself 3 to 6 or 7 times in a row and it's becoming the only thing that calms me down, however I know that this can result in some kind of addiction in order to feel better and I really don't wanna end up in that situation. I am aware that I am damaging my body, but somehow is the only thing that makes me feel better. Do you guys have any advice on what to do when the urge to harm myself just won't leave my head?

...See more I've been struggling with anxiety and depression for a few years now, but this past year it just seemed to be the emptiest one. Previously, when I felt numb I had school to keep going. It was that one task that kept remembering me that I was actually doing meaningful stuff and keeping me having social interaction. But that ended last year. Now everyday is a reminder of how useless I am and how little I'm doing for helping my situation. I can't get the course that I was hoping to study, I can't get a job (so I don't have money for a therapist), my friends ignore my existence every time they have the chance and my parents won't shut up a goddamn day about how useless, bad and fat I am. Ending my life is a thought that has been present ever since my depression started but now it's becoming a real possibility. I don't really see a point in continuing living the way I'm doing it right now.
