...See more I was let go from my job as an IT Systems Engineer a couple of months ago. I finally got a job offer working in Cybersecurity, which is an industry I've wanted to enter for years, for an IT consulting company. I've accepted the offer and will start this Monday, May 8th. The job will eventually be remote after 6 months of training in Vienna which is a four hour drive from where I currently live in Austria. The company is paying for my hotel and per diem as well as €6000 in German lessons. The condition is that I have to be able to talk to German speaking clients within that 6 month timeframe. I'm not confident of how well I'll be able to speak German within that time. I also received an offer from Microsoft this weekend for a similar role, though not remote, that will pay €10,000 more per year but will require me to move to Vienna. The job doesn't start until July 1st as they require a background check, which I'm sure will be fine as I've had no issues from those before, before I fully hire on. There is also no requirement for me to learn German to any level within a certain amount of time even though I do still plan to learn German. I'm conflicted on which job to choose. I need income as soon as possible so I'm going to start the first job on Monday and my work contract with them states that both parties have a month to decide if it will be a good fit or not. The company seems like a good place to work and doesn't look like they'll be going anywhere - i.e. bankruptcy, etc. I'll also feel very guilty if I leave the first job for Microsoft, but. . . It's Microsoft. I don't know how I can say no to the opportunity of working for just an established company. While I've been working in the adult world for a couple of decades now, I've never before had the issue of choosing between two jobs that I want to do both offering so much. I need some help talking through this to get my head straight and not make a rash decision that I might regret later.
