...See more I have recently separated with a partner who I truly loved because we could not keep up with each other over a long distance relationship in which they left for college. We both agreed it would be nice to try again when we're older, but I am scared because I know that the day where I get another shot to be their partner might never come for a number of reasons. Part of me is worried that they had realized that they no longer felt attraction towards me but decided not to say so. I do love them, so I know that I have to let them be free for their college life, or potentially for the rest of their life if that's what they need. I refuse to butt myself into their life if they truly do not want me there, because as much as this is making me hurt, we would both be miserable if I did that. As much as I am embarrassed about it, I have been trying to do what I can to put myself on the path to meet them again once we are both through school. I know this is a fool's errand, because so much can change for both of us in that time, and trying to set myself up to see them again is basically butting into their life. I badly want them to be a part of my life and I am struggling with coming to terms with the fact that they might not come back into it. It has been making me lose a lot of sleep.
