I’m a Schrödinger's cat person


once I did crush one of those electric tractors into an aircraft parked at the Marco Polo airport of Venice. I guess that makes me an air-crush survivor. I also crush landed with a tandem paraglide into a Muslim cemetery in China: 10,000 deaths! But I’m still alive.

...See more Is it true that suffering is ultimately inevitable? If so, should we stop trying to avoid suffering, and ask instead what is really worth suffering for? Is it possible to figure out something that we’re going to gladly sacrifice for? Something that while on the process of achieving it makes us sustainably and organically grow. To the point that the external validation of reaching our goals is not as much as the intrinsic value derived from the quest itself. Values such as agency, or community or maybe meaning. And what do these words really represent? Is agency the feeing of control over our life? Or is it the quality of those who take full ownership of their choices? Is community the feeling of belonging, or the commitment to support those we care about? Is meaning a general sense of purpose in life, or the mindful connection to direct experience agains which we can constantly check and adjust our model of reality?

...See more Can dopamine regulation help with fear management? I wonder if restricting distractions-derived-pleasure can mitigate fear of experiencing pain. I’ve lately struggled a lot with being present outside of formal meditation sessions. I’m hunted by anxiety and panic attacks. Practicing mindfulness feels like not enough anymore. Maybe if I could smooth out the pain-pleasure seesaw excursion, then also my fear of suffering would adjust automatically. any thoughts or suggestions?

...See more I’m 45 already and still going through a very difficult breakup… which is kind of frustrating given my age. Or is it that my generation is not really into successful relationships? If not, please just let me believe so. Even tho deep inside I know I’m relentlessly sabotaging my own well-being. So I’m on a quest to identify and deconstruct self limiting beliefs; I think I’d like to become the person that I needed to be around when I was a kid. Unfortunately right now I’m just super anxious and completely identified with a nightmarish story I tell myself about my experience. Well I should add this intro to my LinkedIn profile.
