...See more Hi everyone, I've been dealing with depression since my 20's, I'm in my 50's now. I've managed to have a sucessful career and family with the occsional blip. I work as a senior leader in IT security. It's very stressfull most of the time, yet I seem to handle it well. I've been on anti-depressants for many years, having just weaned myself off Remeron. Trying to lose weight. Anyway, I find myself very tired of fighting depression and trying to maintain a carreer. I just want to retire now and never have to work again. It's a constant struggle to stay motivated and keep on top of my game. I think I need to find a less stressful career, but am terrified of starting over at my age. I'm happy to walk my dog, hang out with my wife, enjoy visits with my kids, but work just exhausts me. Even thinking about it just drains me of all my energy. Is this just a normal mid-life crisis or am I sliding back down to depression again? Go back on meds and stay fat or try to find a therapist? Find another career or stick with for another 10 years? Just some of the many thoughts going through my head.
