...See more Hello everyone, Im new here and to this and I’m also not quite sure what I’m expecting. I guess I’m hoping there a people out there I can relate to. I’m 33 years m old and the past 8 years have been controlled by increasing social anxiety and crumbling self esteem. I’ve always been bad at school but my main attribute which got me through everything was my social skills and my knack for listening and empathy. This also landed me a job in sales and my career has been good to the point where I’m now in leadership position. I know should be happy with this and I know a lot people have it a lot worst and I also feel for everyone that’s going through these struggles. Social anxiety has increased from 0 to being shy in meetings. To the point now where i always feel on edge or judged. I can’t look people in the eye, i can’t express my personality at all and i am extremely uncomfortable in my head of sales role. Everyday drains me to the point that I want to escape. When looking for new jobs o now feel stuck. The only thing i was good at was social skills and they are completely gone. This means I can’t find career perspective and feel stuck in this endless anxiety loop. Ive been in different therapy forms for 5 years and I’ve tried multiple medications without success. How do people find relieve or get out of the anxiety prison whilst maintaining the life that your leading and have worked hard for to build? I feel so hopeless, I wish I could just quit everything and escape my life and all social interactions. sorry for the venting but let me know if you can relate! 🌞
