Emotional lability after stopping meds
Depression Support / by tofuandbeans1012

...See more Recently weaned off of two high dose antidepressants (medically supervised weaning). I’ve been on meds for the majority of the last 20 years; the most recent stretch for 7 years. my emotions are WILD. I consider myself to be a Highly Sensitive Person and have always had major difficulties with my emotions but this is on a new level. I know the “whiplash” from stopping meds after being on them for so long can last months. Essentially, I don’t want to feel alone in my experience. Logically I know I am not fully unique here but the experience of being so sensitive, having my emotions on a wild roller coaster, and being unsure if or when I will level out - it is so isolating, defeating, and often soul-crushing. can anyone relate? Can you let me know that I’m not alone? If anyone has successfully gotten off antidepressants and gone through this stage of extreme emotional sensitivity, are you there? Does it get better?

Long term recovery challenged by COVID lockdown

...See more Hello! I’m new here and am wondering if anyone here has been in recovery/recovered from an ED but has found COVID lockdown and constant work from home a trigger that’s brought up long-buried thoughts and behaviors? I was treated back in 2012 for AN (b/p subtype) and have been on a steady recovery journey and I want it to stay that way!! But I am finding that working from home and the constant pressure to stay home/ not go and do things in the “real world” has been… extra difficult in keeping myself on track and I am maybe overthinking my food decisions way too much because I’m scared that I am listening to the old ED voice? Anyone else in a similar position with advice or want to connect for support and accountability?
