Is What I Have Worth It?
Relationship Stress / by tommo16

...See more I'm going out with a girl that means a ton to me, is super nice, a really great person and listener, (I'll stop rambling haha) and this is kind of my first relationship. But things can be really difficult on her part, and I've tried to be patient but at this point I can only be that way for so long for me to feel the loneliness and absence of her weigh down on me Like her parents are so strict that when she brought up the subject of hanging out with me alone to them they're like "yeah we'll discuss it" and that was a month ago yet the family still talks abt me apparently. Like it's obvious what the parents are doing but it's still super crummy. We've never hung out alone once except for instances when we're hanging out waiting for our friends to meet up. The lack of communication on her part is extremely frustrating, I've brought it up to her before and discussed it and she's apologized and said she would do better and for a while she has, but recently things have been really frustrating. We'll only have like 1-2 messages a day and recently no messages at all. She'll say that she's super busy and that shes too tired to text after all her work and stuff, which I understand but the thing is 1. Her work situation is super easy to solve but it seems like she refuses to acknowledge it or do something abt it and 2. Nobody is saying her messages have to be perfect which is what she tries to do every single time she messages me which isn't necessary and some anxiety thing she has which I guess I can understand where she's coming from but it's frustrating Also sometimes I feel like I'm in more of a friendship then in a relationship, but mainly bc of a combination of the issues above. Sometimes it feels like there's a lack of affection from her, we hold hands sometimes which is nice, but we never really cuddle or anything else. It's just really frustrating, she's really amazing and fun to hangout with, she means so much to me and has helped me express myself in a ton of different ways, but I don't know if I can keep doing this, but I'm afraid of letting something good go. I'm gonna ask her if she wants to go to dinner sometime and then head to the movies after next time we meet up, if she gives me some excuse I'm probably just gonna tell her how I feel. I just want someone elses thoughts on it, I'm sorry if this is a lot. I just really need outside opinions
