It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to 7 Cups!  I am glad you're here and excited to talk with you. I've worked for many years as a high school English teacher and guidance counselor. After that, I worked and taught at two universities.

I have been living with bipolar disorder for almost 20 years, and I've studied the disorder extensively, along with many others covered in the DSM-V; however, I prefer not to rely on or to get anxious about such labels and diagnoses, as label-focusing takes away from dealing with the symptoms. I have also worked in the past as a drug and alcohol sponsor.
