...See more hi everyone! i'm still a bit new to 7 cups and i'm just trying to figure out the layout of things. even though i'm a bit shy about this, i figured i'd share it here. i'm still working to improve my writing, so please excuse any mistakes or typos (and let me know in the comments so i can fix them!) here's some background info: this is a little AU of an oc x canon pairing between ohma tokita (kengan ashura) and my oc, riyusu kanaihara. it's set in the meiji era. Ohma opens his eyes tentatively, his chest confined and aching with each breath. His hair, he assumes, is no longer in its usual topknot. His messy locks, with the undertone scent of the forest and blood, lies completely flat on the makura, cradling his scarred face. He moves his glazed eyes as best as possible, though he doesn't recognize the lavish wallpaper nor the soft bedding he lays upon. He parts his lips, feeling each piece of skin part. His tongue juts out, licking the chapped skin. As he does so, he notices the dry, near rawness in his throat. He takes a few more breaths, continuing to feel that pressing pain atop his breast before slowly beginning to grasp the idea of what is on him. Bandages. Many, many bandages, wrapped protectively around him. The sound of soft footsteps registers to him, and thus, he waits, keeping his eyes just barely open, appearing to still be within the blissful embrace of sleep, but enough to see the room around him. The mystery person kneels beside him, leaning over to view his face. Looking at him as if he were a spectacle, a sight to see. He may not be, he believes, but oh, what a sight she is. Ohma would recognize that gorgeous woman anywhere. Riyusu, the fair daughter of the daimyo Kanaihara, otherwise known as the man he serves. However, her father takes no place in his mind or heart at this moment. Both are filled with only her. Her long, silky black hair, flowing like a sliver of night. Her downturned and devastating grey-blue eyes that seem to glimmer with affection when she so much as glanced in his direction. Her fair skin, so soft, even in the night. A breeze from the opened shoji door leading to the engawa outside her chambers rustles both of their hair. Her hands are quick to brush strands away from his hair and eyes before silently closing her own, eyelashes fluttering against her cheeks. She takes a deep breath, shoulders rising with the influx of oxygen, before sighing and continuing to peer at his face. "Tokita-san..." She murmurs, barely audible. She lifts her head, scanning the room for seemingly invisible intruders, before relaxing. "Ohma.. What did you do? I am honored to have been protected by such a soul, but also filled with deep sorrow to see you nearly killed." Riyusu brushes Ohma's hair away from his face, and he, sensing an opportunity, catches her slender hand between one of his calloused ones, placing their now clasped hands over his heart. "I am the one who is honored. Your gentle touch is a soothing balm to my aching body, my lady." He risks opening his eyes wider to clearly see her expression in the moonlight, a ghost of a smile touching his lips upon seeing that she looks adorably startled, like a child receiving a precious gift they hadn't asked for. "Oh, you hellion! You scared me half to death!" She whispers, her words scolding but her tone affectionate. "You fought well, and now you may rest just the same to regain your strength. Sleep, my dear Ohma. I shall watch over you." "Mm," was the only reply Ohma could muster, the deep-settling feeling of new love and content lulling him to sleep, secure under the watch of his lady love - his Riyusu.
