...See more A month ago, my best friend I met online left me. She was my best friend that I chatted with every day and the one who understood me the most. I was so honest, even about my negative feelings. So, I told her even when I felt sad. We were friends for about two and a half years. She became so busy, and I gave her space. One day she stopped talking for a week, and I asked, “Are you okay? Why don’t you talk?” I didn’t expect her to say it was my problem. I always gave her time. When she was sad, I was there. If she said she wasn’t motivated to study, I even did new things to encourage her as much as I could. She finally said I was too negative because I told her she is talented and I’m not at that point, which was true to myself. She also told me I’m toxic in friendships since I joked about one of her statuses like, “Now you have new friends, huh?” I clearly told her it was a joke, but she didn’t believe me. And after the joke, she talked to me very well, and suddenly she became like this. I didn’t understand and was shocked when she said those things. I said sorry to her multiple times, but she didn’t mind, I guess. She lastly wished me good luck and then blocked me. She had depression, and lately she was okay with medicine and even stopped taking them. She was okay. When she was a patient, I heard even very bad negative things from her, like she wanted to die. But I didn’t leave her saying she was too negative. I helped her as much as I could. I even told her back then to write her happy moments on small papers and put them in a jar. When you feel worthless or sad, just read them—you’ll realize you have happy moments too. At the end, after she got better, she did this to me. I really can’t understand how, because of little things I did, she could just leave me like this. I accept that I was negative. I told her she is talented and that I can’t even do a little thing, lol—like a joke about myself. She had friends and I didn’t have many; she was like this back then too. But after she gained friends, she didn’t want to listen to my sad things. She told me she didn’t unfriend me but blocked me everywhere we could chat or see each other. I’m really shocked after what happened. I’m questioning myself: is it that bad to tell negative things about myself? I never said anything bad about her or mocked her. Is it that bad to feel a little jealous when my best friend is hanging out with new friends and I’m all alone at home? I didn’t tell her to stop hanging out with them or stop this or that, but somehow, she still took me as a toxic one. I gave her space even after that and said, “If it’s for your good, okay, I’ll stay away,” and she told me she wanted to chat with me in a group we were in. I couldn’t understand why she wanted to chat in a group and not in private. And I did feel bad chatting with someone who told me I’m a toxic one. So I left the group out of sadness. But after some time, I decided to join again and asked our other friend to add me. She wasn’t an admin then, so she asked my best friend to give her admin so she could add me. And she didn’t even mention to that friend that she would leave the group after that, but she actually did. My other friend also felt guilty because of her action. After some time, another new friend also tried to bring us together in the group. At first, she agreed with that person to join the group, but after I joined, the next day she said she wouldn’t join. Like, she didn’t say even one clear word, which made the three of us feel guilty. She didn’t even tell other friends what happened between us. When others asked why she left the group, she always lied, saying several things like her storage was full or she had studies—so many things. I finally had to tell others what really happened. What hurts me most is that if she really didn’t unfriend me or wasn’t really angry with me, why didn’t she properly talk to me and instead block me like spam.
