"We are all so necessarily mad, that to try not to be mad would amount just for another form of madness" - Ernest Becker (from the book: The Denial of Death)
"Nothing short of everything will do" - (Aldous Huxley)
"It is no measure of health to be adjusted to a profoundly sick society" (Krishnamurti)
"The attempt to runaway from pain, will eventually result in more pain later on" (Gabor Mate)
I've been on the side since 2016. Lately, very seldom. Nevertheless, when I am here I make sure to pay all my attention to the person or persons I am talking to here. I expect the same, otherwise, it won't work for any of us. I don't know how much chatting with a stranger helps on the other side, but I hope it does. However, no matter how well our chat goes it still has many limitations. That said, I've been through a lot (anxiety, depression, addiction, you name it), I've read a lot, and have some experience with therapy, psychology, and offline listening too. I am a male, in my mid 30s, living in Central Europe, at the moment.
I am glad to share my insights, knowledge, or simply my attention. Nothing usually has one simple solution, everything is interconnected (as Huxley put it in the quote above), so don't expect to change overnight. Be kind to yourself, and patient, and if you have acute anxiety, fear, or a problem know that nothing lasts forever. Also, know that we are all living in a culture that sells us unrealistic and unhealthy ideals, to be adjusted to it completely is fitting into madness we all accept as normal. It might be comforting and provide certain amount of certainty, but it's still just repression, just a well-accepted one.
Thus, I believe, real growth is painful confrontation not only with oneself, but also with the culture that co-created that Self as such it is a lifelong process that won't be "solved" by any one chat, therapy session, social media post, or book. Yet, every step is important, especially, the first few. So, that's my goal here - to provide an environment enabling taking a few steps towards more self-empathy, self-understanding, and more perspective. Nothing more, nothing less.
The "Spiritual" in Spiritual coverage does not mean esoteric, religious, or supernatural. It simply means that all problems have spiritual roots, in the sense that no one is independent of their environment, genetics, culture, or family, and beliefs we all adopted about ourselves from these sources. True spirituality for me is being able to deconstruct your own personal story and put it together meaningfully in such a way that it makes sense again.
