Independent Aging and Living Support Services Program
Southern Rhode Island Volunteers
The Independent Aging and Living Support Services Program, based in Providence, RI, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in Washington County, East and West Greenwich, and Jamestown. We provide essential transportation to healthcare appointments and grocery stores, along with food delivery and Meals on Wheels services to ensure our elderly community has access to nutritious meals. Additionally, our visitation program actively engages with isolated individuals, offering companionship and support. Understanding that seniors may need extra help, we also coordinate minor home repairs, yard clean-up, and snow removal for those over 90 years of age who lack family assistance, as well as respite care for caregivers. Our partnership with the RI State Division of Elderly Affairs allows us to place senior volunteers in the Senior Companion Program, empowering those aged 60 and above to give back to their community while receiving a stipend for their time and dedication. Together, we strive to create a supportive environment where seniors can thrive independently and with dignity.
