United States Local Support & Community Resources

The United States, a nation celebrated for its rich cultural diversity and dynamic economy, faces significant mental health challenges exacerbated by social and economic disparities. One in five adults, or 21%, experienced mental illness in 2020, highlighting the urgent need for accessible mental health support in the United States. Economic factors such as income inequality, rising housing costs, and job insecurity significantly impact mental health, creating stress and increasing the prevalence of disorders like anxiety and depression. Access to mental health services in the United States remains a barrier with a critical shortage of providers, especially in rural areas. This disparity underscores a need for affordable mental health care in the United States. The pandemic worsened existing mental health challenges, intensifying issues of fragility in the healthcare system and reinforcing the necessity for improved mental health resources in the United States. Despite these obstacles, initiatives to expand mental health programs and services, such as telehealth and community-based interventions, are providing hope. These efforts, combined with a focus on improving insurance coverage and affordability, aim to close the treatment gap. By exploring this directory, individuals can find mental health resources in the United States tailored to their specific needs, promoting well-being in communities nationwide.

Therapy is a worthwhile investment in yourself.       I know it may be tough to ask for help and that the twists and turns of life can be overwhelming. I am here to help you move in the direction you want, to help you heal, to provide you hope. If you're unsure if therapy is right for you, I get it! It may be different than what you are used to. However, trying is the first step to knowing.  I am here to give you a non-judgmental, safe, warm space for you to express your feelings. In my therapy sessions, I like to focus on the emotions you're experiencing and to help you understand them while challenging you to get to a better spot.     About Me: I have been working as a therapist for 13 years with training in Motivational Interviewing, Safe Zone Training, CBT, DBT, couples and family therapy. What does that all mean though? It boils down to this: I have always had a passion for helping others to cope with their emotions and try to sort out the chaos and beauty that is life. Here is what you can expect: You do not need an appointment to send me a message. I will respond at least 1-2 times per day (5 days/wk). If you go a few days without writing, I may just check in to see how things are going.  Whether it's depression, anxiety, stress, or maybe you don't even know what to call it, I'm here to chat.  Daily Chat: I am usually available 5 out of 7 days per week (that may be either during the week or over the weekend). Depending on schedules, I will try my hardest to accommodate your needs. Feel free to write to me anytime!  I'm glad you're here to invest in you.
