The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Moorefield, WV, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental sustainability, and economic viability. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program empowers Fellows by offering comprehensive training at the Allegheny Farm Campus. With no tuition fees, we promote accessibility and inclusivity in education focused on organic food systems. Our Fellows engage in essential activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, leading community gardens, and teaching food and ecological literacy, while also participating in farmers markets and community food coalition initiatives. Over a six-month residential learning experience, followed by a Community Action Year, participants apply their skills in collaboration with local non-profits, fostering innovation and increased access to healthy foods. Interested candidates can submit their application by March each year, with the Fellowship typically running from May through October.
