Exercise 1.1 - On a scale 0 to 10 with:
- 0 (zero) - being almost always angry, hurt, resentful, or bitter when someone is unfair to you or hurts your feelings.
- 10 (ten) - being perfectly forgiving in almost all situations with almost everyone you know.
How would you rate your forgiving level? ______________
Exercise 1.2 - We are going to forgive one hurt at a time.
- Pick one hurt that you feel you can not forgive right now. THIS is the hurt you will work on through this one set of steps.
Or you may write it on your own personal book or digital notes that you keep along one time set of steps.
Please note that some hurts run deep that after finishing the steps you may still feel it in a lesser level and you can repeat the steps until you are able to completely forgive.
Exercise 1.3 - First way to forgive is decision toward the person. On a scale 0 to 10 with:
- 0 - when you plan to get even, never speak to the person again, or hurt the person even worse than they hurt you.
- 10 - when you decide not to pay back a hurt for a hurt, but you plan to treat the person as someone you appreciate.
How would you rate your decision about how you want to treat the person in the future? _____.
Exercise 1.4 - Second way to forgive is called emotional decision. On a scale 0 to 10 with:
- 0 - if you feel complete unforgiving emotion or no emotional forgiveness.
- 10 - if you feel no negative emotion whatsoever toward the person.
