Someone to Talk to About Posttraumatic Stress

Posttraumatic stress can occur after experiencing or witnessing a deeply distressing event, such as abuse, violence, accidents, war, or the sudden loss of a loved one. While feeling shaken after trauma is natural, for some, the emotional and psychological impact lingers, making it difficult to move forward. Memories of the event may intrude into daily life through flashbacks, nightmares, or intense anxiety, often making even routine activities feel overwhelming.

Many people with posttraumatic stress struggle with hypervigilance, constantly feeling on edge or easily startled. Others may try to avoid reminders of their trauma, withdrawing from places, people, or activities that bring back painful memories. Emotional numbness, difficulty concentrating, and disrupted sleep patterns are also common, leading to feelings of isolation and exhaustion. These experiences are real, valid, and not a sign of weakness. Healing from trauma takes time, and support can make a profound difference.

At 7 Cups, we understand that trauma can leave lasting scars, but you do not have to face them alone. Talking about what happened in a safe and non-judgmental space can be an important step toward healing. Our listeners are here to provide compassionate support, helping you navigate your emotions and regain a sense of control. You deserve to feel safe, heard, and supported - recovery is possible, and you do not have to do it by yourself.

Es muy buena, me ha recomendado lo que mi psicóloga presencial ha hecho de manera simple lo que me han hecho en terapia presencial en meses
So far, I genuinely feel like she is the only person to have understood me. Like I’ve been doing therapy for a few years and this is the first time where I genuinely feel understood by somebody. I feel listened to. And then I really appreciate her because it feels like she’s guiding me through with questions.
So far I love her approach and her questions are always on point!
