Clinical Social Work/Therapist

About

Hello and welcome!

My motto is "Walking with you to achieve and succeed."

For over three decades I have proudly touched the lives of thousands of people from Washington to Florida, Maine to California and Internationally. Over this time, I’ve walked with thousands of people who have entrusted me with their very personal stories of horrific trauma and victorious triumphs.

You may ask, “What approaches do you use?”

So, I have successfully utilized clinically sound and eclectic treatment approaches which are clearly based on individual needs. Below you will find my top 4 strength-based, solution-focused, culturally-sensitive treatment modalities:

  1. CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Treatment

  2. IFS - Internal Family Systems Approach

  3. TIT - Trauma Informed Treatment

  4. IHA - Integrative, Holistic Approach in Treatment

While providing treatment over the years, I was invested in finding a way to recognize the real life stories of those I’ve helped. In addition to publications and speaking, I am humbled to have written a book entitled, ”Whispers of Inspiration” which has been eagerly anticipated by survivors and advocates across the country. Meritorious quotes resonate the deep realities of those who have experienced abuse, trauma and triumphs in their life journey. In the debut of my first nationally recognized book, it has been an eminently distinguished, personally inspired page-turner that will leave the reader with insight into the mind and soul of the survivor. By writing each quote about true trauma stories, this poignant publication holds a proverbial mirror to the emotions of the survivor while respecting anonymity. While trauma is often wrought with pain and anguish, this salutary book celebrates hope and healing for all who engage in its reading.

I am humbled with the opportunity to serve others and I am extremely proud of my credentials which helped me perfect my craft.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who completed two Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Sociology at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Following this time, I worked while managing a family and completing my Masters Degree in Social Work at Marywood University, Scranton, PA.

My ideal clients are invested in learning how to ‘fish’ or to develop an improved life.

You may have heard the Chinese Proverb, If you give a man a fish, he will eat today. If you teach a man to fish, he will never be hungry.” I see my work as teaching others to fish. Encouraging folks to 'fish' and achieve transformation starts with YOU! Evidence notes that the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of successful treatment and outcomes. When speaking with me you’ll see that I am truly a down-to-earth gal who balances old school values with cutting edge insights. I will foster open communication and a generous slice of humor as laughter heals many ills.

Lets see how you score by answering the below questions with a YES or NO.

  • Are you feeling tired, anxious, depressed or stressed-out?

  • Do you have relationship challenges, isolate or find you don't want to participate in previously joyful activities?

  • Can you identify childhood or adult traumas such as physical/sexual/emotional abuse or neglect?

  • Are you sick and tired of failed relationships and/or complicated divorce?

If you answered YES to one or more of the above questions, you may need counseling and you are NOT alone! Many of us dream of trans-formative life changes. Yet without dealing with the elephant in the room, you will continue digging that dark, cold, rabbit hole which only leads to spiraling out of control. But don’t worry, here is a way out – take action. Remember Nike’s slogan, ‘Just Do It.?’ Well, If you are willing to take an important step toward healing; I promise to walk with you to build upon your mental health toolbox. You will learn to recognize triggers, identify plans of action and/or embrace the value of self worth.

Like you, I have special interests & love to have FUN!

I am particularly fond of the limitless activities in the outdoors. I relish in the sights and sounds of the Caribbean ocean and rustling leaves moved by a fall wind. My family is awesome. Well, most of them are (lol). I know, we all have that one person – you know who he/she is! My family functions are often large, loud and filled with phenomenal foods. You may giggle to hear me talking to my four legged, furry, Pomeranian named ‘Big Paulie.’ You may be wondering about the name. Well, I must admit that although I don’t condone violence in the real world, I love a good mob movie. Now think about the numerous ‘Paulie’s’ in mob movies as they cut fresh garlic, cook mouth-watering red sauce or take part in some type of scheme. So, aligned with all of the ‘Paulie’s’ in movies, we decided on that name. If we decide to work together, stay tuned for more and remember that laughter is a healing tool for today and tomorrow!
