Drop your favorite routines!
Healthy Living / by AshlynnIShere

...See more Hello everyone!  I know sometimes we walk into the gym or get out our at-home equipment because it's time to work out, but then we look around or stare at the equipment and just absolutely blank out about what to do! I figured we could all share our favorite routines, and maybe someone going through a mental block could try one. So I will start!  The BEST back day I have ever curated: 1. 4 sets, 6-8 reps wide-grip cable lat pulldowns  2. 4 sets, 6-8 reps low narrow-grip cable rows  3. 3 sets, 8-10 reps kettlebell gorilla rows  4. 4 sets, 8-10 reps weighted back extensions  5. 4 sets, 6-8 reps assisted pull-ups with alternating grip positions each set

Keeping Smoking Free.

...See more Good Afternoon Everyone! I am Ashlynn. I’ve kept from smoking for 4 months now. I was a smoker for 10 years. I want to share some of the things I did that helped me accomplish this short but mighty win so far. Now, while I understand Self-Care is something often harped on and can be slightly sickening to hear about as a coping mechanism, it is important. I found Self-Care such as skincare, the gym, stretching, and hair care as great activities for myself because it kept my hands busy. It kept me from hitting the cabinets to eat because those nasty withdrawal food cravings, and it kept me from relapsing. It took my mind away from the place that haunted me for those first few days. Going outside and reconnecting with the world also helped me, but I understand that also means immersing yourself around triggers. Strangers smoking, stores selling things, etc. Avoid it! Move away from it until you can confidently confront it without losing what you have earned. Only you can keep yourself accountable and on the path to success. It is easier said than done. And there are SO many more tips and tricks. However, you have to find what works for you. This is your journey, you choose where to plant your feet and where they’ll move next. Hold your community close, but hold the better version of yourself closer.
