Dealing with depression and high expectations of ones self

...See more As my 26th birthday approaches quicker and quicker I find myself heading into a down ward slop with my depression. Nothing in my life feels like it should be at what society deems as “normal” for someone my age. I work a dead end job, failed out of post secondary school at 22, in a possible “timed” relationship with my partner of 2 years where he’s leaving for a different country in months and live with my parents still. I’m on Zoloft but I find myself not reacting as well as I did a few weeks ago to them. I just feel stuck and I don’t know what to do as I watch myself change into someone I don’t recognise. I’m miserable and I don’t know how to fix my life as I watch the pieces crumble slowly away. I’m terrified of getting older and not reaching the goals I and society deemed important... career, financial stability, marriage, children, house.... Does. It ever get any better than this?
