Dealing with depression and high expectations of ones self
As my 26th birthday approaches quicker and quicker I find myself heading into a down ward slop with my depression. Nothing in my life feels like it should be at what society deems as “normal” for someone my age. I work a dead end job, failed out of post secondary school at 22, in a possible “timed” relationship with my partner of 2 years where he’s leaving for a different country in months and live with my parents still. I’m on Zoloft but I find myself not reacting as well as I did a few weeks ago to them. I just feel stuck and I don’t know what to do as I watch myself change into someone I don’t recognise. I’m miserable and I don’t know how to fix my life as I watch the pieces crumble slowly away. I’m terrified of getting older and not reaching the goals I and society deemed important... career, financial stability, marriage, children, house.... Does. It ever get any better than this?
In life, it can feel like things never get better at all with everything. It can get better but we don't know when it will get better at times.
@Basicdogowner
i have also been going with some same situation. I have been not social since a long time and not doing anything in daily life which being a student i must do but my lack of concentration and focus on my studies is doing the damage
I have exams near
I hope I find the courage to attempt them despite my not studying.
