How to stop remembering painful memories

...See more Hello this is my first time on this app! Nice to meet you all. For years I have this problem of always remembering the most embarrassing or stupidest thing I did in the past even if it is the smallest thing that people don’t care about. Every time my brain remembers them I feel so ashamed and upset at myself that I want to punch something or worse punish myself like starving. These painful memories keeps haunting me everyday where I wish it can all go away and leave me in peace. I’m hoping in this community thread can help me learn how to leave things in the past and move on. (Let me know if my grammar is bad, I tend to do that when I am ranting)
