Bio

Very recently, I started getting a large amount of personal requests. If you send one, please wait patiently and I will accept it as soon as possible. I will always accept in order of request, so please do not message until I have accepted, otherwise you cut the queue and that is unfair to those waiting patiently.

Just so you are aware when we talk, I have what is called Alexithymia. I get asked a lot of questions about it, so in short it is not being able to identify or experience most emotion. Because of this, I probably won't be the best listener for everybody as I tend to take a direct and logical approach when messaging with members. I just want you to be aware so that if you request me, you know what to expect. Thank you.

...See more Hello world, It seems I am back again. I wasn't sure if I would make another entry or not, but seems there were a handful of people who were interested in my last one. Because of that, I figured I would do something sort of like a Q&A. I get asked a lot of questions about my condition, so hopefully this will clear it up. * What is Alexithymia? In short, it is the inability to feel emotion, and very frequently not understand emotion.  * How did you get it? I do not know. When I was 19, I was in an accident that caused long-term memory loss, and I do not remember the majority of my life before then. The doctors believe it could have been a result of the injury that caused it, as I have no recollection whether I had it prior to then. Research does show it can be tied to other factors though, such as Autism, PTSD, and many other mental health illnesses. * If you can't feel emotion, why are you a Listener? This is a very good question which many people have asked me since I joined here. I guess first, I should clear up that while I do not feel emotion, I spent many years studying it. I've also studied facial expressions for the last 6 years so that I can better identify other peoples emotion, albeit that skill doesn't come in too useful here. But I digress, the reason I am here is because my therapist said that it could be useful to help others and communicate with people feeling a large variety of emotions. Since I started less than two weeks ago, I already feel a much better understanding of what emotions are portrayed through people's use of language. * Without emotion, what kind of person are you? Another very good question that has been asked of me. In short, I am logical. As I cannot be a warm-hearted and relatable person to members here, I do my best to understand a member's situation and ask questions along the way. Even in my every day life, I tend to see things in what other people have told me is called 'black-and-white,' where there isn't room for interpretation. I might add more as others ask me questions if there is any interest around it. Either way, I find it useful for people to look at and understand. With any health matter or mental illness, educating oneself about it is incredibly important to being able to live with it. Thank you, Vee

...See more I'm not really sure how to start this, but here goes. My name is Vee. Thanks to my caring but incredibly nerdy father, my full name was Eevee - after the pokemon. It's okay though, it's different. I have what's called Alexithymia. While I don't really have the words to describe exactly how it works or what it feels like, the shortest answer is lacking emotion. I would be open to telling you exactly how that is, but I have nothing to compare it to so I apologize. I recently have been meeting with a therapist, which has been an experience. It is different to actually vocalize what it is that I think or do. She had told me that reaching out to others or helping people in need could be a good thing, so here I am. I have been here only a day, but so far I have met some strangers who seemed to be generally kind and thankful.  I think I might continue to use this diary thing just to jot down my experiences or whatever pops into my head. I don't know who I am talking to so that will need to be determined with time. If anyone does read this, I hope it is of benefit in some way.
Feedback & Reviews
Vee is a map for a chaotic path. They give rational and neutral answers instead of biases. They're an amazing listener.
