My name is Vee
I'm not really sure how to start this, but here goes.
My name is Vee. Thanks to my caring but incredibly nerdy father, my full name was Eevee - after the pokemon. It's okay though, it's different.
I have what's called Alexithymia. While I don't really have the words to describe exactly how it works or what it feels like, the shortest answer is lacking emotion. I would be open to telling you exactly how that is, but I have nothing to compare it to so I apologize.
I recently have been meeting with a therapist, which has been an experience. It is different to actually vocalize what it is that I think or do. She had told me that reaching out to others or helping people in need could be a good thing, so here I am. I have been here only a day, but so far I have met some strangers who seemed to be generally kind and thankful.
I think I might continue to use this diary thing just to jot down my experiences or whatever pops into my head. I don't know who I am talking to so that will need to be determined with time. If anyone does read this, I hope it is of benefit in some way.
@CallMeVee Hi Vee! Welcome!
@CallMeVee eevee is a beautiful name ❤ welcome to cups, I'm Lola. And yep supporting others can really open your eyes and help you in ways, you won't believe ❤ gives you a giant tiny hug ❤❤ good luck with everything ❤
@CallMeVee Hello & welcome. That sounds like an interesting condition to have... I can see clear advantages to alexithymia. Without much emotion getting in the way & turning your thought process awry, your reasoning is probably more cohesive & clear than most people's. It perhaps reduces your vulnerability to some of the more common logical fallacies.
At the same time, emotion does play a role in connections between humans. Would you say you have a connection or link to anyone at all? If so, what kind?
@slowdecline48 That is actually a very good question. The short answer is that I don't know, but to better elaborate I don't have any sort of attraction or reliance on one person over another. I understand how for a lot of people it can appear to be a lonely existence if that was the case, but at the same time it's hard to be lonely when you are unaware of loneliness if that makes sense.
