My interest in the human psyche was piqued by Russian Classics such as Anna Karenina, The Karamazov Brothers, etc. Our souls are constantly in flux and I believe that it's never too late to change the path you are on.

Making an emotional connection

...See more I'm finally taking charge of my life and attempting to find the light to guide me out of my depressive slump. Through my reading of Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Kafka, Chekhov, Rousseau, I feel I now have a pretty broad perspective of life and could identify my own emotional distress and go start going about resolving them. That said, I feel weak from all these years of depression and would like strength and guidance from another person who could understand and empathize with my emotions. It seems hard to find such an emotional connection and I realized that pouring my heart out to listeners just doesn't seem to be working... I've started a therapy session but the therapist hasn't replied yet and who knows if she could see from my POV. I need strength and guidance, it's a pity religion isn't something I could lean on since I haven't been exposed to it.
