A Walk With Our Alumni: Takitoteka

...See more Hi community! I hope everyone has been keeping well! Today, I come bearing the experiences of one of the wonderful Content Development and Marketing Program alumni- @Takitoteka! Through this interview series, A Walk With Our Alumni, we hope to help current and future CDM trainees gain better insight into the program and make the most of it! So, without further ado, here is what our alumnus had to say about the program: Q1. Hello, how are you doing today? Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Hi! I’m alright; I'm just busy studying for midterms. However, my university decided to go on strike with the whole unioned staff can’t come to an agreement on pay rates, so things are confusing and hectic.  A little about me? I have many hidden talents I try not to let others know. I learned early on that it’s best to let others underestimate you, as it’s easier to evaluate other’s true intentions that way. For example, animating characters with facial tracking technology so they come alive: https://www.7cups.com/forum/safe7cups/IVSafetyResourcesEvents_1059/ShareYourPositivityforSaferInternetWeekContest_323230/?post=3476270 [https://www.7cups.com/forum/safe7cups/IVSafetyResourcesEvents_1059/ShareYourPositivityforSaferInternetWeekContest_323230/?post=3476270] There are many other skills, though those will reveal itself as people get to know me. Oh, and I’m an anime fan! Currently interested in the isekai genre. Q2. When did you graduate from CDM? Feb 28th, 2023 Q3. What was your favorite part about the program? My favorite part of the program was designing the social media posts. I’m a business technology major, but always loved being creative.  Q4. What was the most challenging part of the program for you? The most challenging part of the program was the research essay. Although I’ve experienced researching and writing reports, the public school system here in Canada failed to teach me how to write an essay properly. I believe many US schools face similar problems due to understaffed teacher issues. However, if I’m being honest, I also didn’t trust others enough to ask for feedback on my writing until I believed it was worthy of a second opinion due to all the critiques I received growing up. Writing isn’t my strength, as I alternate between Chinese and English, though I have never mastered either language. It’s why I prefer more visual forms of communication, such as art or video. Q5. Do you have any words for current and future CDM trainees? Honestly, I would not recommend teenies taking this particular program given the level of expectation for the essay portion. I didn’t reach that level of writing until I hit university. There is also the fact that the program course load does seem daunting when viewed all at once. But keep in mind, this tends to be a lengthier program compared to others, it’s meant to be spread over 8 to 12 weeks with 3 to 5 hours of work each week.  ______________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for talking to me about your experiences Takitoteka! Your contribution means the world to us :) After being through with the interview, if you feel like CDM might be your cup of tea, feel free to check us out here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/siteupdates/SoulfullyAButterflysContentGarden_2136/7CupsAcademyContentDevelopmentandMarketingCDMProgram_236685/] and apply here [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdGEJKlio46Vu6_cQNn7a0h2tLAiOYe-UhW_6usG-yZUWYHDA/viewform]! ...See more Hi community! I hope everyone has been keeping well! Today, I come bearing the experiences of one of the wonderful Content Development and Marketing Program alumni- @SilverSeastar! Hello, I’m Silver. I’m doing great today! I am a medical student from Indonesia. I am passionate about mental health and aspire to become a psychiatrist one day. I also enjoy creating content and expressing myself through writing. Q2. When did you graduate from CDM? I graduated on 25 September 2023. Q3. What was your favorite part about the program? There were several things I loved the most from the programme.  💙 The programme pushed me to do my best and fulfill potentials I didn’t know I could reach before. 💙 I enjoyed getting through the programmes with fellow CDM trainees; they were all friendly and talented!  💙 The mentors really helped me through my challenges and doubts during the programme as well, and on top of being amazing, the mentors also had exceptionally quick response time. Q4. What was the most challenging part of the program for you? I found deciding the topic and subheadings for my article the most challenging. It was a bit intimidating at first, but once I put my mind and effort into it, everything went swimmingly. Q5. Do you have any words for current and future CDM trainees? 💙 If you’ve been thinking about becoming a CDM trainee, now is your sign to submit your application! I learnt a lot through this programme, and every step of the process was precious to me. 💙 If you are already a CDM trainee, thank you for applying to be one! I am sure you’re doing great and will continue to do well. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to a mentor if you need any support. I hope you enjoy your process through the programme! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for talking to me about your experiences SilverSeastar! So, without further ado, here is what our alumnus had to say about the program: Q1. Hello, how are you doing today? Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Ans) I am doing well, thank you. I am a final year graduation student. I started volunteering at 7 Cups as a listener. Later I decided to do the CDM course and that inspired me to write my blogs. Q2. When did you graduate from CDM? Ans) On August 2, 2023, I completed my course. Q3. What was your favorite part about the program? Ans) Although it was a self-paced course, it was loaded with practical assignments and engagement with fellow students. Q4. What was the most challenging part of the program for you? Ans) I have not been good at writing since my school days. So, writing my first article made me nervous. Q5. Do you have any words for current and future CDM trainees? Ans) Skills are not something that you are born with rather you need to develop them. I hope you all will be consistent in completing the course and benefit from it. Thank you!! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for talking to me about your experiences Blinddaisy9121!
