...See more I was cleaning today and found a box in my closet. Inside were several friendship necklaces each one from someone who was a “best friend” at one point in my life. There are about five of them, and every one of those friendships ended in being hurt, abandoned, or betrayed. I know autism can make forming and maintaining friendships difficult, but this feels different than just drifting apart. These were relationships where I was deeply attached and things ended in ways that were actively painful. I’m wondering if other autistic people have experienced something similar, or if this is something others recognize.
