Bio

I love snowboarding, hanging with friends, and especially swimming. In my free time either cozying up with a good book or coloring is always nice. :) I have been struggling with social anxiety, mild depression, and extremely low self esteem for quite some time now, and it’s making me feel like garbage. I’m smiling on the outside, but inside it’s hell.

Stressed about appearance

...See more I have extremely low self esteem. To be completely honest, I know I am not unattractive, and I have actually been told by guys that Im attractive too. I am an active girl and I try to take care of my appearance the best I can when I dont feel like total crap. The problem is, I cant stop looking in the mirror. I know it sounds dumb, but every time I see a mirror I HAVE to look in it. And its not like a quick glance, but for 10+ mins at a time. Also, its not because Im intrigued by my appearance. Its quite the opposite actually. Its almost like a self confirmation sort of thing I guess? I get terrible stress and panic when I am walking out in public as I HATE having eyes on me. My mind races and starts telling me ‘you have something on your face or ‘your hair looks funny and out of place. In turn, this makes me run to the nearest bathroom or mirror there is and fix the way I look. Usually Ill try and fix my makeup or hair to make sure it looks good and presentable for the public eye. I leave the mirror, only to come back to it the next chance I get. I hate the way I look without makeup, and cannot leave my house without it. Its been so crippling lately that I cant go anywhere without looking in a mirror. I want to stop, but the mirror has me trapped. And on the other side, I feel like if I took them away, I would stress even more about how I look. Im not sure if anyone else is experiencing something similar, but any guidance would help cause I am certainly lost.
