Getting used to a diagnosis

...See more I dont know if this is the proper forum to post this, but I suppose I dont know where else I would. After several years of being extremely vitamin deficient, I have recently been diagnosed with Celiac disease. Part of me was glad; I was struggling just to keep my vitamin B12 levels above zero which was causing side effects like anemia, fatigue, numbness in my hands, etc. On one hand, I am happy that I have something that can so easily be fixed. I just dont eat gluten. But on the other, I am struggling with this diagnosis. I was sad not only about all the food I couldnt eat any more for the sake of my health, but so worried about how it will affect my social life. Im already a quiet natured person and I dont want to be that friend that cant eat at many restaurants with them or the friend that can have a beer with them. My friends are all in healthcare so they are very understanding but I still hate to be that person that everyone has to make plans around. It sounds so silly writing it out, but its a large part of the social life where I live. I think the worst part is that when I expressed these concerns to my doctor, he told me I was lucky and that a lot of people are probably jealous that I have Celiac (since being gluten free is such a fad now). Im trying to adjust to this but no one around me has any better advice than youll get used to it. I know I will but I havent yet.

Relationship Stress / by Gracegrace1

...See more My bf of 3+ years just ended our relationship suddenly last night. The last month has been lots of excitement for both of us; I got my graduate degree, got a new job, new apartment, new dog. On top of that it was Christmas, his 30th birthday, and his mom&grandma were visiting us for across the country. Everything was good and he was so normal and so happy. He had told my mom he was working on buying me an engagement ring, he made me this beautiful giant hand sketched canvas of the place we had our first date, he had his family meet mine for the first time, and we had plans for me to move with him next year (he is in the military and I have been going to school/working in a different state). Last night I found out that he was texting another woman on a dating app. When I confronted him about it, he lied to my face and then claimed that he had been planning for week on ending it with me after the holidays because of my job being too far away, despite having made solid plans to visit me in February earlier that day. He wouldnt even look at me as I broke down. He drove me to my parents house in the middle of the night and dropped me off without an explanation, an apology, or a goodbye. We had a life planned together. We had plans to get married, have kids, and grow old together. My life has changed in an instant and I am so lost and confused
